About

Kingsnorth Waste Management and sister company, Impact Inkjet & Toner Recycling are Kent based limited companies registered in England and Wales. Working with a range of local and national businesses and local authorities, we provide specialist recycling services for plastics, plus a range of other materials including paper, cardboard, aluminium and steel cans, Inkjet & Toner cartridges and more.

Our commitment to increasing the awareness of businesses about the importance of recycling, and compliance with the law coupled with value for money  has resulted in Kingsnorth Waste Management becoming a partner with the Zero Wise Bulky Waste Project managed by REMADE South East. Through this partnership we are improving our knowledge and identifying outlets for materials that currently have restricted markets.

Links with both Medway Council and Kent County Council ensure that we are made aware of any local environmental policy issues that we and local business should be paying attention to. Updates of regulations are checked for through Netregs and any significant information passed on to our customers via email newsletters and updates. This information is also available on our website at     www.Kingsnorthwastemanagement.com   or www.Bulkyplasticswanted.com

We are one of a few specialist plastic recyclers in England, this encompasses a wide range of plastics including high and low density polythene, polypropylene, polyethylene and PVC, a full list is available on our website. Alongside this we can provide our customers with baling and materiel processing services for suitable items. Our sister company, Impact Toner Recycling, aims to reduce landfill waste by offering a straightforward and easy recycling service. Collection is free and a further incentive is offered by our sponsorship of four local charities, Wisdom Hospice, Oliver Fisher Baby Unit, Have a Heart and Kent Air Ambulance.  A donation of ten percent is made to each charity from the recycling profit we make.

 The Recycling Process.

A typical recycling day starts with the delivery of materiel to our depot by lorry. Skip lorries are offered a free tip or payment for the materiel.  The vehicle makes the tip and our staff will sort it into each individual polymer. There are different methods depending on whether we are dealing with a tip of soft or hard plastic.

 Lorry Tipping

The materiel is taken to the machine room and in the case of hard plastic, cut up or shredded.

Shredded product

It is then placed into bags and loaded onto a lorry ready to be sent to the remoulding company. Hard plastics are usually recycled into more robust items such as plastic garden furniture.

Soft Plastics have a slightly different process; these are made into large bales.

The bales are then sent to the remoulder where they will be washed and made into pellets. This type of plastic usually gets made into black bin liners. The process for toner cartridges is simpler. We collect from the client and bring to our warehouse where the toners will be sorted into grades, numbers and manufacture type. Once this has been done they are boxed up and sent for remanufacture.

With an ever increasing need to be environmentally conscious  and comply with current legislation, Kingsnorth Waste Management and Impact Toner Recycling hope to raise awareness through knowledge sharing, being part of ongoing changes to the law, providing support to the local community through charitable donation, and most importantly, providing value for money with free services where appropriate. Evaluation of our services to ensure these values is an ongoing process
